Parkite Ben Loomis continued his strong start to the Nordic combined season Friday, finishing 31st in the Ramsau World Cup individual mass start event. Fellow Parkite Stephen Schumann also raced, finishing 46th. Friday’s race was Loomis’ sixth of the season. The 26 year old is ranked 29th in the world, close to his career-best of 27th. The Nordic combined field also raced a non-Cup Gundersen normal-hill event Friday, in which Loomis finished 41st and Schumann 58th. Loomis wants to finish this season ranked top-20 in the world. He’d also like to position himself well for the 2026 Milan Games, which would be his third. Loomis finished sixth in the team Gundersen large hill event in Beijing 2022. The Ramsau Cup will continue Saturday with individual Gundersen normal-hill events for the men and women. There has been one of said events this season, earlier this month in Lillehammer, Norway, with Loomis finishing 32nd. Schumann finished 37th in the same Lillehammer Cup event. If Loomis wants to post a strong result Saturday, he’ll need to improve his jumps. Despite finishing 31st Friday with a 28:13.9 time, he posted the 40th best jump. To track Loomis, Schumann and the rest of the field’s results Saturday in Ramsau, see the FIS’ page for the Cup. The competitions will be live and on-demand on Peacock. The post Loomis posts season-best result in Austria appeared first on Park Record.
