Man sentenced for drugs and firearm charges in Northampton

NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) - A man was sentenced to 6 to 7 years in state prison after pleading guilty to multiple felony charges related to an incident in August 2023 in Northampton.
The man drove with a loaded Glock-19 firearm, packets of cocaine, and 330 bags of fentanyl.
Claudio Echevarria-Perez, 28, pleaded guilty to unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition with prior violent crime convictions, unlawful possession of a large capacity magazine, and possession with intent to distribute fentanyl and cocaine. As part of the plea agreement, several other felony charges were dropped.
