When Governor Jeff Landry was sworn in, he made many promises about what was to come in his opening speech. The legislature immediately launched special sessions for redistricting and crime.

There were endless wins for conservatives in the legislature in the regular session as Landry pushed through many bills that the fourth floor of the capitol had tied up in years past.
