Candy Cane Lane dazzles Clovis for 31 years

CLOVIS, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - For the past 31 years, a community in Clovis has gone out of its way to spread holiday cheer.
110 homes in a community on Alluvial and Peach avenues decorated their homes with dazzling and unique holiday decorations for Candy Cane Lane.
The best part? You could walk or drive through the community to enjoy it all.
Live music, caroling, and holiday treats like hot cocoa and even homemade donuts were available for folks walking through Candy Cane Lane. The New Hope Community Church holds a youth fundraiser at the holiday walkthrough by selling homemade donuts.
"The biggest thing is like just to see the grin on the kids' faces and... we've had horse-drawn carriages over the years, we have a lot of people with like trailers attached to trucks to get people coming through and it's just really cool to see how excited mostly the kids get," neighbor Kim Kennedy said.
One neighbor we spoke to tells us it took three full days of work to decorate her home this year.
Another neighbor tells us he moved into the community a decade ago and immediately learned about Candy Cane Lane. He says he would not trade it for the world, as it has become a family tradition.
Clovis Police understand Candy Cane Lane attracts many people, so they want you to be careful.
“It is an attraction that draws hundreds of cars nightly, and we ask that you have patience for other drivers and pedestrians in the area. The Clovis Police Department urges drivers to use caution and slow down,” said Ty Wood with the Clovis Police Department.
Candy Cane Lane begins at sundown until 10 p.m. and runs through Christmas Day.
