HIGH POINT, N.C. (WGHP) — More than a dozen vehicles caught fire at a junkyard in High Point, according to the High Point Fire Department. Firefighters battle fire at junkyard in High Point. (Courtesy of the High Point Fire Department) Early Saturday morning, fire crews responded to reports of thick black smoke. Crews arriving at the scene on the 1000 block of Porter Street found a vehicle junkyard with more than 20 vehicles on fire. A team of 23 firefighters worked to get the fire under control within 45 minutes. No one was hurt. The fire is currently under investigation.
