(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Fire Department (CSFD) reported around 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 21, that crews responded to Quail Lake where an adult and two children had fallen through the ice. According to CSFD, when crews arrived at the location, near Cheyenne Mountain Boulevard and South Nevada Avenue, they found that everyone had gotten out of the water by the time they had arrived. CSFD evaluated them for injuries. Temperatures are not consistently cold enough to ensure that ice is thick and strong enough to hold people's weight. Falling into frigid water can quickly become deadly.
