ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Two Batavia police officers were hospitalized after they were hurt while responding to a call Saturday morning. According to the Batavia Police Department, the officers were called to check out a "mental health incident" on Trumbull Parkway around 11:39 a.m. While on scene the two were assaulted, police announced. What led up to the incident remains unclear, BPD stated that additional details will be released at a later time. The suspect, whose identity was not released, was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. The suspect is expected to be charged upon being released.
