BISMARCK, ND (KXNET) — There's a chance our area will be getting a mix of rain, freezing rain, and snow tomorrow.
That means roads will be slick, and the National Weather Service (NWS) says it's important to stay safe.
NWS says that vehicle crashes during winter weather result in more than 1,000 deaths and 100,000 injuries per year.
To prevent that, authorities are reminding drivers to practice these safety tips:
Clean off your vehicle before driving. Officers have found that flying snow can lead to crashes.
Leave extra distance between yourself and other vehicles, especially snow plows. Vehicles can drift on snowy roads.
Never use cruise control, and always remain in control of your vehicle.
And remember, if there's ice and snow, always take it slow.
