SSFPD provides details on adult trespasser who entered high school classroom

(KRON) – The South San Francisco Police Department provided an update on the adult trespasser who scaled a fence to enter South San Francisco High School.
The department said at 12:24 p.m. on Friday, police were conducting a narcotics investigation on the 300 block of El Camino Real.
SSFPD said during the investigation, a person officers began to interact with fled on foot to South San Francisco High School, where they stopped in a classroom.
The South San Francisco Police Department said it is investigating an incident of an adult trespasser at South San Francisco High School which placed the school on "secure campus status" temporary lockdown on Friday afternoon.

This prompted the high school to be placed on “secure campus” status. Police said the school did not have a complete lockdown due to the students being safely evacuated from the classroom.
SSFPD’s Crisis Negotiations Unit and Crisis Response Team Mental Health responded to the school. The teams spoke with the trespasser for a total of four hours to de-escalate the matter. The individual voluntarily left the classroom, police said.
The trespasser was taken into custody and later transported to a medical facility.
