NDI celebrates dance community with Winter 'Soulstice'

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The National Dance Institute marks the end of the year with its own Winter "Soulstice" Community Jam this weekend. The dance festival was hosted at the Historic Highland Theater in Nob Hill.
Saturday's gathering was an effort to strengthen the dance community and connect youths to the power of the arts. The festival doubles as a congratulatory event celebrating students' hard work they've put into performances throughout the year.
It’s eggnog season. The boozy beverage dates back to medieval England but remains a holiday hit
"The SWAT celebration teams are performing, our music theater students just performed, our resident student company is going to be performing also at all of these shows, so it really gives you a broad spectrum idea of all of the amazing things we do here at the NDI at the Highland Theater," says Highland Program Producer Vaughn Irving.
There was also an opportunity to shop at the Winter "Soulstice" on Saturday. Arts and crafts vendors were offering unique finds and there was also a holiday bag raffle from Presbyterian Health Care.
