As we welcomed the new season with the Winter Solstice this morning, temperatures will drop dramatically tonight. Bitter cold air dropping into the single digits will feel sub-zero with a gusty wind.  Arctic air will keep us cold through Sunday and Monday. Even with a day of sunshine, tomorrow’s highs will only top out in the lower 20s with wind chills near -2. Sunday night will be clear and bitterly cold once again, with lows in the single digits and a wind chill near 0. Monday will also be sunny, and highs will max out near 25. This brings us to Monday night when an Alberta Clipper system comes through. We have a chance of snow showers with minor accumulations under an inch possible Monday night into Tuesday morning. Temperatures moderate back to seasonable levels Tuesday afternoon. Expect clearing through the afternoon with high temperatures well into the 30s. Santa will encounter partly cloudy skies on Christmas Eve, with temperatures dropping into the upper teens. Christmas Day looks mostly sunny, with highs expected near 35. The remainder of the week will be bright and dry, with gradually warming temperatures into the mid-40s by Saturday. Categories: News, Weather Forecast
