MORGAN COUNTY, Ind. — The Morgan County Sheriff's Office has launched an investigation after a man was injured during a reported home invasion early Saturday morning. According to an MCSO Facebook post, deputies responded to the 9000 block of State Road 39, just south of Bunker Hill Road, around 2:40 a.m. on the report of a 64-year-old man who was attacked in his home. Per a press release from the MCSO, the man's wife woke to the sounds of her husband screaming. She found him conscious but suffering from head injuries. He was later transported to an area hospital and is expected to recover from his injuries. The victim told police that an unknown male attacked him with a large object, according to MCSO. Officers said they remain unsure how the suspect entered the victim's home. The victim and his wife were the only people in the residence during the attack, and no one else was injured, the MCSO wrote. They believe this to be an isolated incident. The MCSO also added a surveillance photo of a subject connected to the incident. Anyone who may know their identity is asked to contact the department. Dispatch can be reached at (765) 342-5544, and those with information can also email the detective at [email protected]. Anyone wishing to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at (317) 262-TIPS (8477). Additionally, an anonymous viewer shared the following photos of police presence at the residence with FOX59/CBS4: This is a developing story. Stay tuned for future updates.
