FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO) – The deputy who fired his weapon at a Fort Wayne church’s event has been identified. Blake Reed with the Allen County Sheriff’s Department was identified as the deputy.  It happened on Dec. 7 at Central Ministries’ live nativity when a suspect allegedly pointed his gun at a New Haven Police Department officer.  An officer told the Allen County SHeriff’s Department that 40-year-old Tyler Leavitt pointed a loaded semi-automatic pistol at him during the event after the officer greeted him.  They say he then drove further onto the church property before shouting that he “wanted to kill everyone there,” according to 21 Alive News.  There were at least 100 people and animals at the event, including several families with children.  Leavitt is facing several charges including disorderly conduct, criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon, resisting law enforcement, pointing a loaded firearm at another, disarming law enforcement officer, battery committed with a deadly weapon and criminal confinement.
