Officer who fired shots at nativity scene identified

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) — Police have now identified the officer who fired his gun at a nativity scene.
According to a report, Officer Blake Reed fired his gun at a man after he threatened to "kill everyone," at Central Ministries' live nativity scene.
Reed, a three-year veteran of the Allen County Sheriff's Department, was guiding visitors at Central Ministries when Tyler Leavitt pointed a gun at the officer and made the threats.

As police tried to detain Leavitt they say, he crashed his car into a ditch, wielding his knife used someone "as a human shield,” attempted to grab an officer’s patrol rifle and did not obey verbal commands.
Leavitt faces several charges as police continue to investigate the incident.
