ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – Crews with the Rochester Fire Department received reports of a house fire Friday evening on Reynolds Street near Adams Street in Rochester shortly before 6:30 p.m.
When firefighters arrived to the scene they saw fire on the first floor of the house. All of the occupants were able to exit the house before the firefighters arrived.
According to the RFD, the single-family home sustained smoke and fire damage to the first and second floors, making the house unlivable as a result of the damages. Two residents were displaced and are receiving assistance from the American Red Cross.
Firefighters say no one was injured in the fire. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
"The fire department encountered difficulties with the closest fire hydrant however this problem was quickly overcome by utilizing a different hydrant nearby," firefighters said.
