SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- Two suspected human smuggling boats washed up along the La Jolla coast Friday morning, an official with the U.S. Coast Guard confirmed.
One of the boats was reported to be completely broken up in the surf line, while the other was located on the beach off of Sea Lane, said USCG Chief Petty Officer Levi Read. Also recovered from the area were 21 lifejackets and multiple gas cans.
There's no word yet on whether or not any arrests were made in connection to this incident.
This follows an occurrence on Wednesday when a panga boat carrying over a dozen people washed ashore in Ocean Beach. At least 11 people were taken into custody in a suspected human smuggling event, according to U.S. Border Patrol agents.
The boats have appeared as dense coastal fog has covered San Diego's coastal area this week.
