Update: Weather alert issued for lake effect snow in New York Saturday afternoon

The National Weather Service issued an updated weather alert at 12:02 p.m. on Saturday for lake effect snow until 3 p.m. for Seneca, Cayuga, Tompkins and Cortland counties."Localized narrow bands of moderate to heavy lake effect snow are occurring this afternoon. If traveling, be prepared for rapid changes in weather, visibility, and road conditions," according to the weather service.
