ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – Crosstown rivals Pittsford Sutherland and Pittsford Mendon took the court on Friday night in the 24th annual Rainbow Classic, benefiting Golisano Children's Hospital. In a back-and-forth battle, Sutherland came out on top 55-46. Sutherland started strong and led 15-12 at the end of the first quarter. A 7-0 run from Mendon early in the second put the Vikings out front for their first lead of the game, 19-16. At the half, Mendon led 25-22. Sutherland responded in the third to pull back in front 40-36 with one quarter to play. The Knights outscored Mendon 15-10 in the fourth to come away with the victory. Sutherland (5-1) will take on Hilton on the road on Friday, December 27th. Mendon (3-3) will host Greece Arcadia on Monday, December 30th.
