MADERA COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - An almond tree "will probably never get to produce almonds again" following a crash in Madera County, the California Highway Patrol said.
Officers say while traveling westbound on Avenue 12, near Road 17 3/4 with the heavy fog, the driver of the Chevrolet Silverado entered the eastbound lane to pass the vehicle ahead.
CHP reports an oncoming vehicle, that was traveling eastbound with its front headlights activated suddenly appeared through the heavy fog. The driver of the Chevrolet swerved to the left to avoid a head-on crash, which made them leave the roadway and crash with an almond tree.
"Only the Chevrolet was damaged and an almond tree that will probably never get to produce almonds again," officers said in a social media post.
According to officers, no injuries were reported as a result.
