CORCORAN, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - For the third year in a row La Raza Motorcycle Club has partnered with sponsors and the City of Corcoran to hand out new bikes to kids in the city.
In an interview with YourCentralValley.com, La Raza Motorcycle Club President, Big Tiny, said he and his brothers were happy to once again give back to the community of Corcoran.
"This the third year," Big Tiny said. "They asked this one year, 'Hey, would you guys be interested in, you know, doing this giveaway for the kids?'"
Tiny says as a nonprofit, the club was happy to oblige and take over a program that aligned perfectly with the club's community enhancement values.
"This is something we do. We do this every year. We're happy to do it," Big Tiny said. "A lot of the guys in the club, they grew up the same, little to nothing - we just want kids to know that there's hope for them."
Big Tiny says the club also participates in visiting old folks' homes, charity fundraising events, car show benefits and more.
"This weekend we have our actual Christmas run," Big Tiny said. "We're going to go visit 25 kids throughout, Kings and Tulare County, families in need and then we have an elderly home we're going to go visit as well."
But granting kids' Christmas wishes in Corcoran is a completely different, fulfilling experience.
"Corcoran is a small community," Big Tiny said. "The Chamber of Commerce puts this event on and they have roast-your-own hot dogs, marshmallows, hot chocolate, Christmas caroling and of course the giveaway."
Big Tiny says at least 100 kids got their hands on a scooter, bike, skateboard or other toys that night. He says the club will continue to strive for community enhancement and anyone who would like to take part, support, or even just watch can do so by following them on social media.
