Boil water advisory lifted for Peabody in Marion County
Dec 20, 2024
PEABODY, Kan. (KSNW) -- Health officials have lifted a boil water advisory for the City of Peabody public water supply.
The Kansas Department of Health and Environment says a waterline break caused a pressure loss in the distribution system. When that happens, chlorine residuals can drop and the chance of bacteria getting in increases.

The department issued an advisory on Thursday when they were notified of the break. The issue has been corrected, and testing shows that the water is safe to consume.
