JAMES CITY COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) -- A three-story home in James City County went up in flames Friday afternoon, according to officials. At approximately 3:20 p.m., James City County Fire Department and James City-Bruton Volunteer Fire Department responded to a residential structure fire in the 8400 block of Westberry Court in the Wellington subdivision. The residents reported a fire in the home and safely evacuated. Upon arrival at 3:30 p.m., crews found significant fire in the front of the home that had extended to the upper floors and roof of the structure. The fire was placed under control by 4 p.m. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the James City County Fire Marshal's Office.
