LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW)- Christmas is here early for Kentucky women’s basketball after the Wildcats bested Belmont 84-78 at home on Friday. Head Coach Kenny Brooks’ team is 10-1 on the season and has one more non-conference game until SEC play begins. Georgia Amoore had a breakout second half scoring 20 of her overall 23 points. Fellow Australian, Amelia Hassett, led the Cats in rebounds with 11. Amoore and Dazia Lawrence both had a team high five assists. The Cats spent most of the game trailing or tied, but took control in the fourth quarter with leads as large as 12 points. Up next for UK is an in-state battle with Western Kentucky on December 28 at home.
