Wichita car dealership owner sent to jail

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) -- The district attorney's office says the owner of a car dealership on North Broadway has been put in jail.
Jacobs Lucky owns 37 Auto Sales LLC near 17th and Broadway. He and the dealership have been in trouble with the DA's Consumer Protection Division before:

In October, a judge ordered Lucky and the dealership to stop selling cars. But the DA's office says they continued to sell cars.
After hearing testimony and reviewing evidence, the judge found that Lucky and 37 Auto Sales sold at least six cars after being ordered to stop.

Judge Faith Johnson ordered Lucky to be taken into custody immediately for contempt of court. Lucky is being held in the Sedgwick County Detention Facility for six months.
The dealership and Lucky had previously been ordered to pay $110,000 in civil fines and penalties. The judge ordered that full payment is required to purge the contempt and allow Lucky's release.
The 45-year-old man was booked into jail on Nov. 26 and is still there.
