Springfield felon pleads guilty for possession of cocaine, fentanyl, machine gun

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - A convicted felon from Springfield was in court on Thursday to face several drug and gun charges.
The Department of Justice said 46-year-old JoPaul McKreith is a convicted felon and allegedly had cocaine and fentanyl between March 15 and May 2 with the intent to distribute. On May 2, McKreith was also located by law enforcement with a machine gun and ammunition.

McKreith was indicted by a federal grand jury on May 16. On Thursday, he pleaded guilty to the following charges:
Four counts of distribution and possession with intent to distribute cocaine
Aiding and abetting and one count of distribution and possession with intent to distribute fentanyl
Aiding and abetting
Felon in possession of a firearm
Possession of a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking crimes
Unlawful possession of a machinegun
McKreith faces up to 20 years in prison, three years of supervised release, and a fine of up to $1 million and is scheduled to be sentenced on April 1.
