PRINCE GEORGE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A 47-year-old Prince George County man is dead after he crashed his sedan into a tree Friday afternoon. At around 12:05 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 20, officers with the Prince George County Police Department responded to the 9900 block of Lawyers Road for the report of a single-vehicle crash. Investigators learned that a Nissan Altima sedan was moving north on Lawyers Road when its driver reportedly drifted off the right side of the road. According to police, he then overcorrected onto the opposite side of the road and hit a tree. The driver, a 47-year-old man from Prince George, was the only person in the car at the time of the crash. He died at the scene. The driver's identity is being withheld until his family can be notified. According to police, he was not wearing a seatbelt and speed is believed to be a factor in this crash.
