Providence Public Schools breaks ground for new school building

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Providence Public Schools broke ground Friday for the new Harry Kizirian Pre-K-8 School.
The district said that once completed, the school will feature:
A dedicated STEM room to foster skills in science, technology, engineering, and math.
Modern arts and music facilities.
A secure and newly renovated lobby with safer student drop-off areas.
Dedicated outdoor play spaces for Pre-K and kindergarten.
Stronger community connections through its integration with a nearby recreation center.
It added that the project is “part of PPSD’s $1 billion facilities plan to increase the percentage of students learning in high-quality schools from 5% to 100% by 2030.”
The $55.2 million project is supported by $45 million in state funding.
