NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Much cooler weather is on the way for the weekend as a secondary cold front moves through Friday night. This will bring winter back for the next couple of days before we start to warm back up on Monday. Look for lows around freezing both Saturday and Sunday mornings to the north with mid to upper 30s south. Daytime highs will only warm into the 50s with plenty of sun through the weekend. Areas north of I-12 could briefly dip into the upper 20s on Sunday morning with most of the area around 30. Warmer air begins to move back in early in the week as we see a return to spring-like conditions heading to Christmas. Expect highs near 70 by Tuesday and Wednesday with rain possible on Christmas.
