Police: Wisconsin 12yearold in custody after allegedly making threats towards school faculty

BELLEVILLE, Wis. (WFRV) - Police in Wisconsin referred a 12-year-old to Dane County Juvenile Court after a student reportedly planned to harm school staff members.
According to the Belleville Police Department, police officers responded to the Belleville School District Office around 3:23 p.m. after officials stated they had received tips from students that a classmate had plans to "harm staff members and themselves."

After investigaton, the police referred a 12-year-old Belleville resident to authorities with the Dane County Juvenile Court for violatins of the following:
Disorderly conduct
Terroristic threats
The police and school officials determined that there is no further threat to any safety of the school or community. The student is in their parents' custody, who have been told that the child is not allowed on school property until officials have determined the next steps.
Since the incident, Belleville police officers have provided extra security during and after the school day as well.

"We are pleased students have taken to heart the safety of their environment and the importance of if they see or hear something that causes them concern to immediately report it to school officials or police," Interim Police Chief Chris Hughes said via release.
