Salvation Army of Greater Green Bay continues Christmas Campaign with Community Lunch

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) - One of the last events of its Christmas Week Campaign, the Salvation Army of Greater Green Bay held a 'Community Christmas Lunch' at the Corps Community Center on Friday.
From 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., Schreiber employees and the Salvation Army of Greater Green Bay were on hand at the Salvation Army Corps Community Center.

Schreiber prepared and served the meal, while the Salvation Army Women's Auxiliary helped with decorating and provided some holiday cheer to attendees as well.
Director of Social Services Becky Darrow said that while they serve lunch daily, they wanted to make it more special on Friday for the holiday season.
Snow arrives in northeast Wisconsin in time for holidays
"The holidays can be really hard, especially for those who might be unsheltered," Darrow said. "To make it extra special and give them a holiday meal to remind them that they are loved. We like putting in that extra time and effort."
The event came on the same day as the Salvation Army of Greater Green Bay's inaugural 'Bucket Blitz' event.
