GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) - The Salvation Army of Greater Green Bay announced that its inaugural "Bucket Blitz" event is running on Friday from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. at the East Town Mall.
The event is a curbside drive-thru donation campaign with the goal of rallying the community to support the Salvation Army's Red Kettle Campaign. The goal is to raise at least $5,000 on Friday.

Volunteers rang bells while collecting donations from the comfort of donors' vehicles. The Salvation Army of Greater Green Bay says that whether it's loose change or larger sums, every dollar raised will help provide programs and services to those in need across the area.
The Salvation Army of Greater Green Bay's Marketing Specialist Nicole Hanley said it's the first time they've done a campaign like this and it's to make a 'final push' as the Red Kettle Campaign wraps up soon.
"Right now we only have a few days to bell ring," Hanley said. "We're running a little bit behind but we're hoping that with a few days left until Christmas, people can help with a last-minute donation."

Hanley added that people who can't make it out to the kettles can still send donations by mail, as long as it's postmarked before New Year's Day.
All of the money raised will stay local, helping those in the Greater Green Bay Community.
