9Day Forecast: Mild temperatures kick off winter

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) -- Happy Friday, El Paso! Only five more days until Christmas and high temperatures are expected to be warmer than average throughout the holiday week.
By this time of year, highs are normally in the mid- to upper 50s but we are forecasting highs in the upper 60s through Christmas Day.
Saturday is the official start of winter where we will see a high near 67 and low around 41. Sunday will produce similar conditions with plenty of sunshine.
For Monday, light winds are expected along with a high near 66 and low around 43. Mostly clear skies will lead us into Tuesday, Christmas Eve. We’ll see a high near 65 and low near 40 degrees making for a chilly Christmas morning. Christmas Day will produce a high near 68 where mostly sunny skies will dominate through the daytime.
Come Thursday onwards, cooler temperatures are expected in the lower 60s along with more cloud coverage during the day. Lows will continue to be in the upper 30s, lower 40s range.
