El Paso's Plaza Theatre named among top venues by Billboard Magazine

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) -- El Paso's Plaza Theatre has earned some national and worldwide buzz.
The Downtown El Paso theater placed 23rd among venues with a capacity of 2,500 or less, according to Billboard Magazine's annual end-of-year rankings.
"The recognition highlights the Plaza Theatre's remarkable year, marked by an exceptional lineup of performances, revenue earnings and attendance numbers. In 2024, the Plaza Theatre hosted 78 shows, drawing a total attendance of over 102,000 guests and generating a total gross revenue of $6.5 million in ticket sales," according to a news release sent out by Destination El Paso, which manages the venue.
"This ranking underscores the Plaza Theatre's status as a world-class destination for live entertainment and cultural experiences," said Jose Garcia, president and CEO of Destination El Paso. “We are proud to see the Plaza and El Paso celebrated on a global stage and look forward to continuing to deliver exceptional programming to our community and visitors."
The Plaza Theatre's standout year featured performances by musician Leon Bridges, "Disney's Aladdin on Broadway," Two Door Cinema Club, comedian Ralph Barbosa, Sofia Nino de Rivera, Xavi, among dozens of others.
"This diverse lineup of events reflects the Plaza's commitment to offering premier entertainment that appeals to a range of audiences. The Plaza Theatre remains a cornerstone of El Paso's arts and entertainment scene. The venue has continued to play a pivotal role in the City's cultural landscape, contributing to the local economy and elevating El Paso as a leading destination for live events," the news release said.
