(COLORADO SPRINGS) — A child was on their way to school when they were hit by a car in the morning hours of Friday, Dec. 20, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD). CSPD said on Friday a little after 8 a.m. officers were called to the intersection of Vindicator Drive and Rockrimmon Boulevard about a crash between a car and a pedestrian. When police arrived they spoke with all the people involved, a child was on their way to a nearby school and the driver claimed to not be able to see due to the sun's glare. The child was taken to the hospital where serious non-life-threatening injuries were discovered. The driver was cited and released, drugs and alcohol are not considered as factors in the crash.
