BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) -- The transition team for Mayor-President-elect Sid Edwards continues to take shape.
Edwards won the East Baton Rouge Parish mayoral race over current Mayor Sharon Weston-Broome. Since then, the incoming mayor has been putting together his Win EBR Transition Team.
“The first meeting of our Win EBR Transition Team proved to very productive in establishing a cooperative and transparent path forward to getting the work for this new administration underway,” Sen. Rick Edmonds, chairman of the transition team, said.

During a Dec. 19 meeting, the team established a three-month meeting schedule for committees to work on developing recommendations.
“The task of each committee will be to identify assets and opportunities for positive change, assess the community’s feedback on assets and opportunities for progress, and create a set of recommendations and present them to Mayor-President Edwards regarding short-term and longer-term goals,” Edmonds said.
These committees will meet once a month during the first three months of 2025. A report with recommendations and information will be submitted by the end of March.
