BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- Bakersfield police are investigating after a customer accidentally shot themselves inside a busy Chipotle restaurant. A Bakersfield police spokesperson said they received a report of the shot going off in the Chipotle bathroom on Mount Vernon just south Highway 178 at around 12:49 p.m. The victim fled from the restaurant before officers arrived at the scene. Investigators were notified a gunshot wound victim arrived at a nearby hospital shortly after. A police spokesperson said all indications are that the shooting was an accident, and no gun was found at the scene. It was not clear if the customer would face any charges. The Chipotle remained open to customers.
