Wichita police arrest 18yearold in November murder

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) -- The Wichita Police Department believes it has solved the murder of a woman. The victim, 48-year-old Deanna Garcia, was shot while getting ready for bed last month.
Police arrested an 18-year-old and booked him into jail Thursday evening.
The shooting happened on Nov. 6 in the 2300 block of N. Mascot.
A 49-year-old man in the home said he and Garcia were preparing for bed when shots were fired into the house from outside. The man had been hit in the lower leg, but Garcia was fatally wounded. She died at the hospital.

The WPD says detectives conducted an extensive investigation and identified a young man as the suspect. They arrested him on suspicion of multiple counts, including felony murder, discharge into an occupied dwelling and aggravated battery.
