SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - The Hampden County District Attorney's Office is looking to spread joy this holiday season by helping dozens of children in need through its annual 'Adopt-A-Child-Initiative'.
New plans set for the old Eastfield Mall location
Staff members who "adopt" a kid, receive a wish list, and shop for gifts tailored to that child's needs. It's in partnership with the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children.
Hampden District Attorney Anthony D. Gulluni shared, “I am so proud of the many members of my staff who have stepped forward and exhibited such generosity for these children. The kids involved in this initiative come from difficult circumstances, and this helps give them a joyful experience during the holiday season. More, now than ever, this is what the season is all about.”
The gifts are wrapped by the DA Office staff, picked up, and sent to the children by clinicians who work closely with their families. There are a total of 68 children they are hoping to help this holiday season.
