MOSELEY, Va. (WRIC) -- The 22nd anniversary of Miracle of Christmas is returning to the Metro Richmond Zoo on Friday, Dec. 20, Saturday, Dec. 21 and Sunday, Dec. 22. The live nativity pageant, which features live actors and animals from the zoo, celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ. Visitors can watch three 20-minute performances each night with showtimes at 7 p.m., 7:45 p.m., and 8:30 p.m. Gates open at 6:15 p.m. Live musical performances from churches and local organizations will be provided prior to each performance. A full list of performers can be found on the Metro Richmond Zoo's website. The zoo is also asking for donations for a canned food drive. "We're hosting a canned food drive for Chesterfield Food Bank Outreach Center," said Taylor Andelin, communications manager. "If you want to participate, you can bring canned food to the front entrance and drop it off there. We love to support those families in need." Admission and parking is free. The pageant is located outside near the front entrance of the zoo, and officials are advising visitors to dress for the weather. The Metro Richmond Zoo is located at 8300 Beaver Bridge Road in Moseley.
