(KRON) -- Taco Bell has submitted a proposal to open a drive-thru in Walnut Creek, city documents show. The proposed fast food restaurant would be at the Rossmoor Shopping Center, which is a part of one of Walnut Creek's senior communities.
The proposed Taco Bell spans 1,368 square feet with a walk-up window, an outdoor patio and "new landscaping."

The address of the Taco Bell would be 1998 Tice Valley Blvd., the same as an existing Chevron gas station. However, the city confirmed that the Taco Bell, if approved, will not replace the gas station.
Taco Bell submitted the application on Sept. 24, according to a Walnut Creek spokesperson. The application is in the early stages of being reviewed by the city. There is no timeline for when a decision will be made regarding the fast food giant's application.
Walnut Creek is "seeing a resurgence of applications" for businesses to open up in the city, the spokesperson added. The review process will take more time than expected.

Rossmoor Shopping Center currently has a CVS, Safeway, Mountain Mike's Pizza and a Starbucks drive-thru. The only Taco Bell open in Walnut Creek is located at 2400 N Main St. There is also a Taco Bell in Lafayette about three miles from the proposed Rossmoor location.
