More Big Lots stores closing in Indiana
Dec 20, 2024
COLUMBUS, Ohio (NETWORK INDIANA) — Big Lots Inc. says their stores will be going out of business.
This includes the stores throughout all of Indiana.
“We all have worked extremely hard and have taken every step to complete a going concern sale. While we remain hopeful that we can close an alternative going concern transaction, in order to protect the value of the Big Lots estate, we have made the difficult decision to begin the GOB process,” says Big Lots’ President and Chief Executive Officer, Bruce Thorn.
Those words were said after a purchase deal with Nexus Capital Management happened. Thorn says going out of business is necessary because Big Lots Inc. is trying to protect the company’s value.
So far, five Big Lots stores already shut down, including Indianapolis, Kokomo, Fort Wayne, Elkhart, and Warsaw. Many more stores are expected to shut down as well.
Stores and online shopping will remain open for customers as the stores close down. Big Lots is trying to see if they can work things out with Nexus or other companies.
