(KRON) -- A man connected to the fatal shooting of a 2-year-old in April was arrested in Alameda on Wednesday, the Alameda Police Department said. The victim was struck by a bullet in the parking lot of an IHOP in Federal Way, Wash. APD took 31-year-old Jerome Lewis into custody, describing him as a suspect in the shooting. Lewis was living at a city-owned home for homeless people in Alameda. Bay Area senior women accused of shoplifting from Palisades Tahoe ski shop The shooting happened on April 4 just before 10 a.m. The Federal Way Police Department responded to a shooting call in the IHOP parking lot and was informed minutes later that the young victim had arrived at a hospital with a gunshot wound. Lewis is the second suspect to be arrested in this case. A 17-year-old suspect was arrested on Oct. 2 and will be charged as an adult. Police arrested Lewis on a warrant for first-degree murder. The Federal Way Mirror reported that Lewis was the getaway driver, and the juvenile suspect shot the boy and his father. Lewis will be extradited to Washington, and his bail is set at $3 million. He does not have a criminal record in Alameda.
