Waimanalo native Tetairoa McMillan has been named the Polynesian Hall of Fame College Football Player of the Year. This season for the Arizona Wildcats, McMillan caught 84 passes for 1,319 yards and 8 touchdowns. His longest catch was a career long of 78 yards. In 3 games this season, the wide receiver had 10+ catches. In 5 games he racked up over 100 receiving yards with 2 of those above 200 yards. In a thank you video released from the Polynesian Football Hall of Fame, McMillan spoke about what this award means to him. "I am truly humbled and blessed to receive the Polynesian College Football Player of the Year award. I want to say thank you to the Polynesian Football Hall of Fame Committee for blessed me with this prestigious honor. I've been fortunate enough to receive this honor in high school and now college. God has blessed me with many gifts, talents and opportunities, and I hope to use those to inspire others. For the Polynesian players who came before me. You guys have laid the foundation and set the precedent for me and future generations. I am a product of all who came before me. My ancestors had paved the way for me to be successful today. They have inspired me to be where I am and who I am. They have also taught me the importance of humility and gratitude. I hope that I can be a reflection of the Polynesian culture, not only through my play, but my character, Mahalo," said McMillan. McMillan was a finalist for the Biletnikoff Award and has recently declared for the NFL Draft. He has now won the Polynesian College Football and High School Football
