Suspect in Hopewell restaurant robbery, employee assaults arrested

HOPEWELL, Va. (WRIC) -- The Hopewell Police Department have made an arrest in connection to a restaurant robbery that took place in March.
At 7:32 a.m. on March 1, police responded to a robbery at K&L BBQ, located at the 1400 block of Maple Street.
The investigation determined that there were four armed and masked individuals who entered the restaurant. According to police, they assaulted and injured multiple employees, ultimately holding the employees at gunpoint until they received an undisclosed amount of cash.
On Wednesday, Dec. 18, police made an arrest in connection to the robbery. Raymont Tasco of Hopewell was arrested and charged with multiple felonies, including robbery and use of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

Tasco is currently being sent to Riverside Regional Jail without a bond.
