CRANSTON, R.I. (WPRI) — Cranston Fire Chief Robert Ryan will be retiring at the beginning of the new year. A city spokesperson told 12 News that Ryan's last day will be Jan. 3, 2025. Ryan has served in the department for more than three decades, having first joined in 1988. He was named chief by Mayor Ken Hopkins last year. Ryan succeeded then-Chief James Warren.
