City Council approved legislation that greenlights the Philadelphia 76ers arena proposal on Thursday after anti-arena protesters delayed the vote with a sit-in demonstration. Officers arrested and hauled activists away. The Center City arena is slated to open in 2031, when the Sixers lease at the Wells Fargo Center in South Philly expires.
