'1,000Lb Sisters' star pleads guilty to drug charges after arrest at Tennessee Safari Park

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A star on the TLC reality show “1,000-Lb Sisters” pleaded guilty Thursday to drug charges following an arrest at a West Tennessee safari park.
Amy Slaton Halterman and co-defendant Brian Lovvorn pleaded to one count of simple possession of marijuana and one count of simple possession of mushrooms, Crockett County District Attorney General Frederick Agee said.

They were sentenced to 11 months and 29 days on the charges, which will run consecutively. Agee said they must do the following:
Pay court costs and a $1,000 fine
Complete an alcohol and drug assessment and follow any recommendations
Complete a state-certified parenting class
Both are now banned from Tennessee Safari Park
"This is the Season of Giving and we understand that Amy Halterman and Brian Lovvorn are the pride and joy of the State of Kentucky and they will now be back in Kentucky for the Holidays," Agee said in an email to WREG.
Halterman and Lovvorn were arrested Sept. 2 after Crockett County deputies responded to Tennessee Safari Park in Alamo, where Halterman claimed she was bitten by a camel.

When they arrived, deputies were “immediately overtaken” by suspicious odors coming from the guests’ vehicle, officials said.
Deputies found marijuana and illegal mushrooms in their vehicle. Children also were inside the vehicle.
