Warming shelters opening over the weekend in the Lowcountry

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Temperatures are expected to drop significantly across the Lowcountry over the weekend. As a result, several shelters will open for those looking for a warm place to sleep.
Hibben Hospitality Shelter
690 Coleman Blvd, Mount Pleasant
With temperatures dipping on Saturday and Sunday, Hibben will open the doors at 7 p.m. and take guests until 11 p.m. Guests are expected to leave at 7 a.m. the following morning.
For the stay, visitors will be given an evening meal, breakfast, and a warm place to sleep. Showers are also available with towels, soap, and shampoo.
Pickup will be at 6:45 p.m. on 68 Columbus Street. CARTA will take guests back downtown the following morning.
Seacoast Church Summerville
301 E. 5th N. St., Summerville
Seacoast’s Summerville campus will provide guests with a cot, linens, and pillow, dinner, and a takeaway breakfast. In addition, a shower trailer is available if desired. Check-in will be at 7 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
CARTA will provide transportation to the center from the Trident Hospital pickup. TriCounty links will transport as well.
The church cannot accommodate pets.
