(WJW) – How often does luck strike? When it comes to major lottery wins in Ohio, it happens more often than you might think.
Ohio lottery winners reaped millions in 2024.
Mega Millions ticket in Ohio wins quadrupled prize!
FOX 8 gathered information on the biggest lottery wins in Ohio in 2024.
$19.4 million – Classic Lotto
This prize was the biggest in Ohio by far this year.
A woman in Reynoldsburg claimed $19.4 million on the Classic Lotto jackpot.
The winner says she played random numbers.
“I stopped breathing for a while,” she said. “I sat there and held my breath for a very long time. It was quite a shock.”
The winning ticket was sold at Winners Corner located at 2036 Baltimore-Reynoldsburg Road in Reynoldsburg on Nov. 27.
$7.5 million – 50th Anniversary
A Sandusky woman told lottery officials she was speechless after winning a $7.5 million jackpot on a 50th Anniversary scratch-off ticket.
The ticket was sold at Friendship #83 on June 14.
“There were people in line looking at me like I lost my mind,” winner Jeane told lottery officials.
$7.3 million - Lucky for Life
A life-changing win came for one person who bought a Lucky for Life ticket in Columbus.
The ticket sold at the Obetz Shell is worth $7.3 million. The winning ticket was sold on Sept. 23.
$5.75 million – Lucky for Life
Another lucky winner claimed millions on their November Lucky for Life lottery ticket. A ticket worth $5.75 million was sold on Nov. 18, 2024, at Tom’s Carry Out in Powhatan Point.
The numbers were auto-picked.
$2.5 million – Monopoly 200X
A scratch-off player hit big on Monopoly 200X in February.
The ticket was sold at The Beverage Depot in Youngstown on Feb. 22.
The prize? $2.5 million.
$2.5 million – Monopoly 200X
Monopoly 200X saw another big winner just weeks apart.
According to the Ohio Lottery, a Monopoly 200X scratch-off sold on March 6 was worth $2.5 million! The winner was sold at UDF #154 in Cincinnati.
$2 million – Mega Millions
You don’t have to be a top prize winner to claim a big prize in Mega Millions.
Someone matched 5 out of 5 numbers correctly in the Sept. 6 drawing. They also had the Megaplier, to make that $1 million prize worth $2 million.
The ticket was sold at Mickey Mart #68 in North Ridgeville.
$2 million – Magnificent Millions
A $2 million scratch-off winner was sold in September. The prize was won on the Magnificent Millions game
The ticket was sold at Hurds Lil Market in Southington on Sept. 3.
$2 million – Ultimate Cash
A Meijer gas station sold a big winner. A scratch-off ticket worth $2 million was won on the Ultimate Cash scratch-off. The ticket was sold at Meijer Gas #126 in Mansfield on May 7.
$2 million – Money Maker
The Money Maker scratch-off was a money maker for one person in Ohio.
A ticket sold at Kroger #804 in Delaware in June was worth $2 million.
