Publix executes lease to open new store in Stephens City

FREDERICK COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) -- Known for its made-to-order sandwiches and groceries, Publix announced that has executed a lease to open a new location in Frederick County.
In a statement sent to DC News Now, a spokesperson said the new Publix grocery store will be at the southwest corner of Fairfax Pike and Warrior Drive.

The 50,325 square-foot store will be home to the Sherando Green area. Officials said the location will employ about 150 associates.
Currently, Publix has 22 stores spread across the Commonwealth. With most of its stores in the Richmond area, officials said they are looking forward to growing its footprint.
“We are excited to continue our growth across Virginia with this new location in Stephens City,” said media relations manager Jared Glover. “We look forward to our new customers experiencing the Publix difference soon.”
An opening time frame and date has not yet been determined.
